When each system is the better choice.
Odoo, when the ecosystem counts
You want a particularly large selection of ready-made apps and you value the polished Enterprise interface. Or you already use the Odoo ecosystem heavily and certain specialist apps are more mature there for your case.
ERPNext, when openness and user count count
You want to scale without per-user licence cost, full openness and control over your data matter to you, and many internal users should work in the system without licence cost growing per head.

Is ERPNext completely free?
The software itself carries no licence fee. You pay for hosting, the rollout and support, that is, for the work rather than for user licences.
Is Odoo not free as well?
