ERP for your industry
Manufacturing, retail, services, trades, e-commerce and associations all work differently. Each industry page shows the friction that actually occurs there, and how ERPNext resolves it.
By industry
Six industries, the same core.
Sales, purchasing, warehouse and finance sit on one data basis everywhere. What differs is the area that hurts today — and therefore the one that goes live first.
- 01ManufacturingBills of materials, work orders and material that arrives on time.
- 02RetailStock, purchasing and sales across several channels, without double entry.
- 03ServicesProjects, time and billing that add up instead of running side by side.
- 04TradesFrom the enquiry through the job to the post-calculation, on one data basis.
- 05E-commerceShop, warehouse and accounting connected, instead of pushing CSV files overnight.
- 06AssociationsMembers, dues and donations with a clean audit trail, without a folder of spreadsheets.
Three businesses, three bottlenecks.
When one area is what really presses.
Two pages go deeper than the industry pages, across every kind of business:
And when the question is more about the way there.
The four services that carry a rollout:
Common questions about choosing by industry.
My industry is not on the list. Does that mean ERPNext does not fit?
No. The six pages describe the patterns we meet most often, not the limit of the system. Whether ERPNext fits your processes is settled by the setup check, against a real transaction from your own business.
We work in two industries at once. Which page applies?
Both, and that is not a contradiction: ERPNext runs manufacturing and retail on the same data basis. What decides the order is not the industry but which area costs the most time today.
Do we need an industry-specific customisation?
Usually configuration, custom fields and custom reports are enough. Where a process really is your own, a clean Frappe app is the more honest answer than a bent standard. The difference is set out under What is ERPNext?.
Which area goes live first is not decided by your industry.
The setup check takes a real process from your business and says whether ERPNext carries it, and where to start.
